Faster and still free from 7 June.
Milan’s free Wi-fi network Open Wi-fi Milano will make a leap forward on 7 June, when the new, ultra-fast connection becomes available at 650 hotspots around the city.
Still free, as it has been since its introduction, the network will now no longer require a login at every connection. Users will need to log in only the first time they use it; after that, their PC or smart-phone will connect automatically whenever it is within range of one of the hotspots.
Not only that: from 7 June there will no longer be a limit on connection, either by time on line or by quantity of data downloaded.
Open Wi-fi Milano was taken temporarily off air 5 and 6 June to allow city hall technicians to upgrade the system.
The website also includes a map of hotspots already operative, and those planned to connection soon.
