Giro d’Italia passes through Milan suburb Thursday.
Stage 18 of Italy’s famous annual cycle race will rush through the centre of Milan’s Rho suburb on Thursday 26 May, causing havoc with local traffic.
The streets along the course will be closed to all traffic from 09.00 to 12.00 – including that in the opposite direction to the race – and cross traffic from side streets will be stopped from 11.05 to 12.00.
The exact route of the race through the suburb will be along Via Ospiate (arriving from the east), Via Tommaso Grossi, the Mazzo overpass, traffic circles R2 and R1, slip-road to Fontanili Ghisolfa, Via dei Fontanili and then the overpass towards Cornaredo.
The 240 km stage will have started earlier that morning from Muggiò, 15 km to the east, and will finish in Pinerolo for the sixth time in the Giro d'Italia history. The first one was in 1949 with a great victory by the famous Fausto Coppi.
