18 October 2012-6 January 2013. On occasion of the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the Italian publishing house Salani (1862-2012), Castello Sforzesco pays homage to the history of Italian graphics and illustrations with this exhibition, entitled From Pinocchio to Harry Potter.
On display are 300 graphic works, including drawings and original prints by Italian and European authors, such as Carlo Chiostri, Ezio Anichini, Gastone Rossini, Quentin Blake, Emanuele Luzzati, Mimmo Paladino, Tullio Pericoli, Sergio Staino and Altan, coming from Salani´s archives as well as from other important libraries and collections.
This exhibition allows viewers to discover part of this extraordinary historical archive, which hosts over 30,000 pieces from the unification of Italy to present times. The Pilastri Room hosts a special didactic area for children, which houses a series of meetings and workshops with some Salani´s authors.
