Under the headline At the origins of a legend, 20 paintings by Gustav Klimt (1862-1918), one of the most popular and productive artists of the Vienna Succession movement, will be on display in Milan’s Royal Palace, on loan from the Vienna Belvedere museum from Wednesday 12 March.  They will be accompanied by another 80 works by Klimt’s contemporaries, including his brothers Ernst and Georg.

The exhibit will include such well-known works as Adam and Eve, Judith II (or Salomé), Sunflower and Flowing Water, as well as a faithful reproduction of Klimt’s 1902 Beethoven Frieze, this last occupying a whole room of the exhibition
