23 March-22 May 2010. This double exhibition is dedicated to two great American photographers, Man Ray and Robert Mapplethorpe, who each in their own way have been ahead of their time. On display are photographs, paintings and objects created by Ray between the 1920s and the 1970s and a selection of 25 works accomplished by Mapplethorpe between 1975 and 1986. Their works are placed next to each other in a sort of constructive comparison, highlighting the similarities and differences between the two artists.
Address Fondazione Marconi-Arte moderna e contemporanea. Via Tadino 15, Milan, tel. 0229419232. Tues-Sat 10.30-12.30, 15.30-19.00.
