Myths and Nature from Greece to Pompeii

31 July-10 Jan. Over 150 art works from Greece, Magna Graecia and Rome in an exhibition, organized for Expo 2015, presenting a little-known aspect of the classical world: the representation of nature in its various aspects, the impact of human beings on the natural world and the environment.

The works on display come from museums in Italy and abroad, including Pompeii, Paestum, the National Archaeological Museum in Athens, the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna and the Louvre in Paris.

During the exhibition, the Lombard Horticultural Society has set up a viridarium, the indoor garden-courtyard of Roman villas, with plants grown ever since ancient times.
