16 June-12 September 2010. This exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the Napoleonic era (1799-1815) with a display of prints, period costume and original accessories and an historic archive of specialized media. The Napoleonic period laid the foundations of the modern fashion industry: for the first time Napoleon recognized fashion as an instrument of power and the first fashion victims and specialized media were born. With items loaned from private collections, this exhibition shines the spotlight on different dressing styles according to the day, season or occasion.
