Eataly hosts kids’ operatic event
Kids are invited to spend a morning listening to arias from the contemporary opera Milo, Maya e il giro del mondo while following the two heroes’ as they ride their bikes around China, India, Marocco and the USA by tasting samples of the food served in these countries.
As part of a project for musical education for schools and the younger public, professional opera singers will sing excerpts from the work to be presented in a world premiere in February 2015.
It is inspired by the imortal words of one of Italy’s best-loved composers, Gioachino Rossini: “Eating and loving, singing and digesting, these are truly the four acts of that opera buffa called Life, which fades away like the foam of a bottle of champagne. Those who let it escape without having enjoyed it are crazy.”
Visitors to the event will also be able to sign up for the repeat performance of the opera, for parents and kids, in March at the special entry price of €10.
