29 January-28 February 2011. This exhibition entitled Women Without Men features an exclusive multimedia installation by the Iranian artist Shirin Neshat. Neshat has worked on this monumental work, which is based on the novel of the same name by the Iranian writer Shahnush Parsipur published in 1989 and banned in Iran from 2004 to 2008. The novel by Parsipur is set in 1953 at the time of the coup supported by the American and British to depose the democratically elected Prime Minister, Mohammad Mossadegh and return the Shah to power to avoid the nationalization of the oil wells.
