Cross-country race in Milan’s parks.

21 Jan. Running in Milan's parks

This weekend will see the second of five cross-country race meets, this time in the pretty Grugnotorto Park in Cinisello Balsamo in Milan’s northern quadrant.
There will be races for every level of ability, true to the event’s title of Cross per Tutti – from raw beginners up to the most demanding “master” level. The 800-hectare park covers ground in five communities in Milan and Monza-Brianza provinces.
The organisers have described it as a relatively flat and fast track to loosen the muscles, a perfect country training ground for street marathons.
The meet opens at 08.00 and the first run will take off at 09.00. Runs at every level will take place throughout the day. Registration costs €1 for beginners and kids, and €5 for the more senior categories, plus a €5 deposit for the timing chip.
Athletes should sign up on the event website by 12.00 on Friday 19 January, except for those who were already registered for the previous meet in Cesano Maderno.
The following three meets will be held in Paderno Dugnano on 4 February, Seveso on 18 February and Lissone on 25 February.
