Visitors to the “Dracula and the myth of the vampires” exhibition at Milan’s Triennale are being inspired to give blood to Avis, the national donors volunteer association.
An Avis camper van will be parked outside the exhibit on five days, giving visitors the chance to find out more about donating, and even make an appointment on the spot to give blood on one of the two collection days. Volunteers and doctors from Avis will be on hand to answer questions and hand out leaflets about their activity.
“This is an unusual and innovative chance to explain why it’s important to make a contribution to cope with the ever growing need for blood and derivatives for medical, surgical and scientific work,” Avis provincial chairman Natale Casati told daily Corriere della Sera.
The mobile unit will be on the spot on 5 and 12 February and 7 and 13 March from 09.00 to 12.00 and from 13.00 to 15.30. The van will be equipped to accept blood donations on the first and last of these dates, from 08.30 to 13.00.
