Earthquake in Milan

A strong earthquake has hit the North of Italy shortly after 4 am this morning. The epicenter was identified in Emilia Romagna, between Modena and Rovigo, about 50 kms north of Bologna and the reported magnitude was 5,9.

According to news reports, there have been at least 7 dead and over 50 injured along with heavy damage to homes near the epicenter of the quake.
