EU seeks young volunteers

For EU pavilion at Milan Expo

The pavilion of the European Union wants to offer young Europeans the opportunity to actively participate in Expo Milano 2015, contributing to its activities.

The official website of the European Union has published a call for 900 young volunteers interested in contributing to its activities and creating a unique learning and communication experience.

Volunteers will be involved in a wide range of support for visitors activities, such as welcoming and assisting visitors during the queues, facilitating the visit in the EU Pavilion and during the show experience and ensuring visitors’ comfort. Volunteers will be the Pavilion Ambassadors and will share the main storyline messages with the visitors. They will have an individual Expo pass which covers all the period of service, and will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the service.

People interested must be aged between 18 and 30 and citizens of a EU country or a country participating in the Erasmus+ program, or from the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Turkey. They are expected to have good knowledge of English (level B2) and fair knowledge of Italian (level B1), and knowledge of other languages ​​will be an asset.

The selected volunteers will be engaged for a period of 14 or 15 consecutive days and for a maximum of 5 hours and 30 minutes per day. During the rest of the day they will be free to visit the Expo site and all its pavilions.
