Under the slogan “Italy, the treasure of Europe”, Italy will again be taking part in the European Patrimony Days on 29-30 September.
The ministry of culture is contributing to the festival with almost 1,500 appointments in museums, archaeological sites, archives and libraries across the country, almost all of them free and the others at half price. Previously unseen artworks and other cultural artefacts will be on display, and historic buildings will be opened to the public. A full list is available, region by region, on the ministry website.
The 49 EU countries taking part in the initiative have set as their objective to create a climate for appreciating the various cultural heritages across the continent and to boost tolerance, as well as making public and politicians aware of the pressing need to protect the cultural patrimony.
