Expo Milan grounds to open again with mega concert

3,000 free tickets for concert in Expo Milano grounds.

Activities at the former Expo Milan 2015 grounds finally get under way again on 25 May with a large-scale concert combining music, sport and charity.

Tenor Andrea Bocelli and Inter’s “Capitano” Javier Zanelli have joined forces to stage an evening at the Open Theatre with major names – from Gianna Nannini, Francesco Renga and Alessandra Amoroso to Skin for music and for sport Clarence Seedorf, Esteban Cambiasso, Samuel Eto’o and Marcello Lippi – with the funds devolved to the project “Education for a better world”.

The fundraising will help ensure access to education to over 500 children in Buenos Aires and 1,750 students in Haiti.

And the organisers are offering 3,000 free tickets, first come, first served, to fans registering their names on the event website – two tickets for every winner as long as places are available. The offer opens on Wednesday 11 May at 12.00.

Bound by a strong social commitment, friendship and mutual esteem, Bocelli and Zanetti have decided to offer a unique night of solidarity which will be an opportunity to celebrate the reopening of the Expo site and symbolically introduce the final of the UEFA Champions League that will be played in Milan three days later.

This marks the start of the Lombardy regional government’s plan to open the former Expo ground to the public after the “false start” of the concert on 1 May, open only to invited guests.
