Farmers sign up for Expo2015

Confederazione italiana agricoltori to have stand in Italy pavilion 

The CIA – official confederation of Italian farmers and agricultural workers – has signed up as an official partner in the Italy pavilion of next year’s Expo 2015.

One of Europe’s largest agricultural professional organisatilons with some 900,000 members, the CIA stand will organise meetings with its opposite numbers from other countries around the world and showcase Italy's agricultural traditions, innovations and development and its importance to the country's economic recovery.

The CIA was founded in 1977 to work for food safety and protection of the environment. Its activities cover quality control, safety and dietary education, protection and nurture of the environment, agri-tourism, forestry, biological agriculture, alternative energy, publishing and legal information and news.

The stand will be of particular relevance because the theme of Expo2015 is "Feeding the Planet: Energy for Life".
