Free screening in Milan pharmacies

From 6 April until 7 June, selected Milan chemists will offer free screening for sight, hearing, breathing and osteoporosis in an initiative promoted by city hall and Lions Club Milan.
The examinations will be carried out at the chemists by volunteer doctors.
“The Comune is supporting this initiative, “ said health councillor Pierfrancesco Majorino, “to provide quality medical intervention via the network of municipal pharmacies for those who don’t usually pay enough attention to prevention, perhaps for cost reasons.  So we are inviting residents to take this opportunity to have free medical screening.”
Last year some 15,000 screenings were carried out in Milan and outlying comuni.  “The results of the last initiative,” said Franco Carletti of Lions District 108, “show how much residents appreciated the offer.  This year we hope to reach even more people.”
City hall advises residents to book a date for their free screening with one of the municipal chemists taking part in the initiative, in person or by phone.  An interactive map and a list of the chemists taking part is available on the “Pharmacies for all” website.
