Italy issues guidelines to halt the spread of Coronavirus.
The Italian government has issued a set of new guidelines to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, which are to be respected nationwide for the next month.The guidelines, drawn up the government's special scientific committee, were issued on 4 March and are designed to be followed for 30 days, after which they will be re-evaluated.
No more hugs or kisses
The recommendations include an end to greeting friends with handshakes, kisses or hugs. People are advised to maintain a one-metre distance between each other.
Elderly
People aged over 75 are advised to remain at home while those over the age of 65 with existing health problems should also stay indoors.
Crowds
Central to the guidelines is the recommendation to avoid crowded places.
Self-isolation
The recommendations advise self-isolating if you have the slightest suspicion of a potential Coronavirus infection, even a mild temperature.

When sneezing or coughing, it is recommended to use a handkerchief - avoiding contact with your hands.
Don't share drinks
Avoid sharing the same bottles, glasses and cups "particularly during sporting events."
Sport
Sporting events in Italy, including championship football matches, should be held behind closed doors, the committee has advised.
EventsPublic meetings or conferences should be postponed, particularly those involving the health sector, to free up doctors and medical staff to deal with the current situation.
Hospitals
It is now forbidden to accompany people to hospital emergency rooms. Access to private clinics, retirement homes and hospices will be limited.
