Schools are about to close for summer vacations, but many facilities remain open and offer a long list of activities for children aged from one to 14 and sometimes even older. Summer camps, museums and natural oases in and out of the city offer thousands of initiatives ranging from painting, theatrical and musical workshops to cinema and photography classes, sports, outdoor games and other activities in close contact with nature. Some programmes also include walks, excursions and mini-vacations in the parks around Milan. Activities usually run from Mondays to Fridays, starting between 07.00 and 09.00 and ending between 16.30 and 19.00. Most organisations provide daily lunch boxes (sometimes organic) and snacks as well as a weekly insurance for young participants. Costs vary according to the activities and the age of the participants. Some places offer daily entry, while others offer a discount for siblings or friends.
