Last day for marathon registration

Wednesday 3 April is the last chance to register for next Sunday’s 13th Milano Ciy Marathon.
A few places are still available for the main event and for the relay race.  You can sign up to “Run fast, live cool” on the dedicated website.  To be eligible, you must also download the medical certificate which you will need to fill in and hand in at the start.
The SuisseGas Milano City Marathon 2013 features a smooth route, with no rough surfaces and virtually all on level ground, say the organisers.  They point out that this is an ideal route for optimising your personal best time. The route was inaugurated in 2010 and starts at the Fiera di Rho/Pero, crossing the most characteristic parts of the city to end in Piazza Castello. Entirely closed to vehicle traffic, it is estimated to be the fastest in Italy .
The entry fee includes the bib with race number, insurance and medical support, race kit with sponsor gadgets and the official shirt of Milano City Marathon (which you can customise with your name, your team’s name or the logo of the charity you’re supporting).  It also provides access to refreshment points and sponging stations along the circuit, refreshment points before and after the race, the official schedule and all the necessary information material, as well as timing service and timing chip rental, medals (for those who finish the marathon!), a personal clothes deposit,  shower and dressing room service at Civic Arena, and a transport service for anybody who drops out or is injured.
The Milano City Marathon will be the main event of the DomenicAspasso traffic-free Sunday, when all but authorised categories of carìs and motorbikes will be banned fom 10.00 to 18.00.  But there will be plenty of activities for those who prefer to take it easier, from live open-air concerts to free entry to the city museums.
