Parts of Donizetti's opera will be performed in various locations around the airport under the direction of Grisha Asagaroff.

The cast that is booked for La Scala's production – Vittorio Grigolo (Nemorino), Eleonora Buratto (Adina), Michele Pertusi (Dulcamara), Mattia Olivieri (Belcore) and Sofia Mechedlishvili (Gianetta) will perform on 17 September on unusual stages, from check-in to departures. More than a just a preview of the upcoming La Scala production, this is a new flash-mob-style opera event which will also involve passengers as they move through the terminals.

The new concept brings together the marketing strategies of La Scala to engage new audiences and those of Malpensa to make travel a more lively and entertaining experience. The happening will be televised on Rai 5, starting at 18.45.
