Milan approves central heating dates

Heating permitted from 15 October until 15 April.

Milan city hall has approved the winter heating plan 2015/16 with the green light for central heating units in the city’s buildings from Thursday 15 October, as in previous years.

Occasionally the starting date of the winter plan is brought forward because of exceptionally cold weather, but that has not happened this year.

Announcing the go-ahead on its Facebook page, the city administration also reported that A2A, the energy conglomerate that supplies Milan’s electricity and gas, now reaches 10 per cent more apartments than last year with its energy-saving district heating.

The Milan lies in Italy's sector E – the fifth out of six sectors – and for this area central heating units are permitted to fire up for 14 hours per day.
