MilanoModaDonna one day shorter than usual
Italy’s haute couture capital will celebrate women’s fashion from Wednesday 17 September with hundreds of catwalks, presentations and special events through until 22 September.
Organised every year by the Italian National Chamber of Fashion, the event will attract experts, designers, buyers and enthusiasts from around the world to see the latest creations by the brands which have made Milan a focal point of the industry, including Gucci, Versace, Emporio Armani, Giorgio Armani, Jil Sander, Emilio Pucci and many more.
Special events will include the Fashion Film Festival, a New Talents section, a Gateway to Fashion Future exhibition at the Expo Gate, an art workshop inspired by fashion themes called Fashion meets Art, a free exhibition of photos of Sophia Loren, whose 80th birthday falls during the festival, and a special exhibit on Tuscan leather.
Sponsors will also lay on special activities: Canon will offer the opportunity to take part in a fashion shoot, Mercedes Benz will present a new car, DHL will promote their logistics services, Testanera will offer advice on hair care and Class Editori will staff a box for interviews and conversations with designers and special guests.
Headquarters of the week will be the Fashion Hub in Palazzo Giureconsulti in Piazza dei Mercanti, with sponsors’ corners and initiatives open to the public. A detailed programme of the week’s events is available on the Fashion Week website.
