Milan Food Week starts

300 events of cuisine, design, technology and culture

Milan will be enlivened from Friday 16 to Saturday 24 May by hundreds of events in the latest edition of the city’s Food Week, launched five years ago as a precursor to Expo 2015.

For the next nine days the city will host workshops, courses, presentations of products and equipment, food-themed art exhibitions, lectures, show cooking and conferences. The free Food Lovers card – order it on the event website – will give access to a whole year of gifts and discounts at restaurants, pizzeria, bars, pastry shops, ice-cream parlours, wine and food shops and cookery schools.

Organisers Food Tank say their objective is to add a third pole of excellence to Milan’s two sectors of international repute, fashion and design, in view of Expo 2015. Events will be divided into four main categories: Haute Cuisine, Food 2.0, Street Food, and Nutrition and Wellness.

Among the companies taking part in the events are Lube kitchens, Vivident Xylit, Frigomat, Nutella Professional, Risolì, Løv Organic, Kitchen Aid, Long Plate and Angelo Poretti, brewers of the official beer of next year’s Expo.

Full details of all the events, day by day, are on the official website.
