From Friday 17 to Saturday 25 May, the fifth Milan Food Week offers events and experiences for every taste, from traditional Milanese cuisine to exotic dishes, from special offers in restaurants to workshops and classes.
Planned as part of the run-up to Expo 2015 – which will have food as its theme – the nine-day “week” starts on Food Revolution Day as promoted by UK chef Jamie Oliver, and will involve over 250 restaurants and four open kitchens for show cooking and tasting.
Over 350 special events will include workshops on “first time alone” cooking for kids leaving home, choosing and cooking fish, gluten-free gourmets, using spices in sweet and savoury dishes, kitchen art, Chinese therapeutic dishes, choosing wines and a course on tapas and finger food, to mention only a few of the wide variety of events programmed.
Enthusiasts can sign up on the website to the Milan Food Lovers group, which will give free access to the events, as well as discounts and special offers from the partner companies sponsoring the week.
Full details of the events, locations and restaurants involved and a day-by-day programme are available on the Milan Food Week website.
