A recent survey conducted by the prestigious Bocconi University of Milan has revealed that there are 1,600 homeless people living in the city.

However the number has surprised the organizations that deal with the problem on a daily basis, especially the Red Cross, which has expressed its reserves on the methodology used for the survey.

Alberto Bruno, member of the Red Cross for the province of Milan, underlined the difference between the city area and its suburbs, stating that if the number of homeless is related to the city it is too high, if it is related to the city and its suburbs, with more than 4 million inhabitants, then the figures are in no way close to the real numbers.
