Milan shows old and new fashion designers.
Italy’s fashion capital includes 170 new collections on the catwalks until Monday 28 September.
The carnival presents famous names and plenty of new entries this year. Among the prestigious newcomers are Peter Dundas for the Roberto Cavalli house, Arthur Arbesser designing for Iceberg, and Massimo Giorgetti for the Emilio Pucci brand.
Among the better known first-timers showing in Milan Fashion Week are Damir Doma and Daizi Shely, while 17 youngsters launch their first collections at the brand-new Fashion Hub Market, for rag-trade professionals, in Piazza Gae Aulenti.
Another prestigious location will be the Sala delle Cariatidi in the royal palace, by courtesy of city hall, while The Mall – close to the Fashion Hub Market – this year hosts a generous catwalk hall and a presentation room.
For fashionistas who can’t get a place, the week’s official website carries videos and live and recorded streaming of the events. The pictures and video are also showing on mega-screens in the Unicredit pavilion in Piazza Gae Aulenti and in Via Croce Rossa.
The fashion week website also carries a calendar of all the events, fashion shows, presentations and other appointments, together with a helpful map of the location of each entry, as well as a Milan Fashion Week Survival Guide.
