Milan’s Gallerie d’Italia open free on Mothers' Day

Mothers’ Day treat Sunday 8 May.

The Gallerie d’Italia, across the square from Teatro alla Scala, offer a free Mothers’ Day entry on Sunday 8 May.

Among the treasures on view in the splendid palazzi created between the late 18th and early 20th century are a collection of 140 newly restored works by Caravaggio, Rubens, Perugino, Lotto and others. There is also an exhibit on articles dedicated to the Greek god Dionysus, including the world famous Pronomos Name Vase, on loan from the Naples National Archaeological Museum.
