Milan's tram, bus lines to change on 16 March

The launch of the new “lilac” Metro line M5 has triggered a major review of surface services – buses and trams – in Milan’s north-eastern sector, with 25 routes changed and three added, from Saturday 16 March.
Tram 5 will no longer reach as far as Parco Nord, but will turn around at the Niguarda Hospital.  Tram 31 from Cinisello Balsamo will no longer reach Lagosta during the day, but will stop at Bicocca until the new Metro stops running at 22.00, and will only from then on proceed to Lagosta as before.
Changes will also affect bus routes 40, 51 and 87.
Three new routes will be introduced.  Bus 707 will connect the M2 station of Cologno Nord with Cologno Monzese, while bus 713 will run between the M5 station at Bignami with Sesto San Giovanni.  And the new bus line 783 will run between Bresso  and the M5 station at Bicocca.
Meanwhile, services within the limited traffic zone of Area C will be improved, with extra buses plying the routes 57, 86, 84 and 87.
Full details are provided on the website of traffic operator ATM Milano, where you can also download a complete map of all the city’s public transport routes, surface and underground.
