MITO Settembre Musicale Public sing-along in Milan’s Piazza del Duomo

10 Sept. MITO Settembre Musicale choral concert open to all.

To round off a day dedicated to choral concerts in the MITO festival programme, everyone from experts to enthusiastic beginners will be invited to join in the singing in Milan’s iconic cathedral square on 10 September at 21.00.

The songs will range from opera to the Beatles, and will of course include Handel’s well-known Hallelujah chorus from the Messiah oratorio.

In the course of the day, nine free choral concerts and a Latin Mass in the city’s own Ambrosian Chant will have attracted lovers of vocal music to halls and churches across the city.  Inspired by a day dedicated to choral music, they can finally sing along themselves in the romantic setting.

A lead choir will sing from the platform, and the public will be guided by a conductor expert in conducting the audience.  Free sheet music and lyrics will be distributed, and the organisers encourage everybody to sing along, even those who believe they are tone-deaf or cannot read music.

For those who would like to prepare in advance, the music and lyrics are available on the MITO website.

The corresponding concert in the MITO programme will be held in Piazza San Carlo on 9 September.
