More hours for bikes in Milan metro

From now until the end of November, cyclists will be able to take their bikes onto metro lines 2 and 3 also from 10.30 to 16.00.
Announcing the experimental new timetable, ATM said this is in addition to the previous periods of start of service until 07.00 and from 20.00 to end of service on all three lines.  Line 1 will not introduce the daytime additional period for the moment because of the intensity of passenger traffic.
Free bike racks have been set up at Romolo, Lampugnano, Molino Dorino and Bisceglie stations to encourage more bikers to use the metro.
All the previous rules apply, including the use of the specially signposted doors in the second and fifth carriage of the trains.  Folding bikes measuring not more than 80x110x40 cm may be carried on board all lines at any time.
The service will be suspended for all hours and all lines in December as the pedestrian traffic increases in the run-up to Christmas.
