More roadworks around Piazza 24 May

Creating “a terrace on the Darsena”

Milan city hall has announced that the roadworks for the restyling of Piazza 24 Maggio will enter a new phase from Tuesday 1 July, lasting until September.

The work, which started in March and will continue until next February, will create a green, pedestrianised terrace overlooking the Darsena, or the old canal docks, with a new neighbourhood market.

From 1 July, traffic on Corso S. Gottardo from Via Tabacchi to Via Gentilino and Via Lagrange will be closed to all except residents and deliveries. The same will apply to vehicles coming from Via Col Moschin towards Via Col di Lana. Also parts of Via Ascanio Sforza and Via Scoglio di Quarto will be reserved for residents.

A map of the new configuration of traffic in the area around Piazza 24 Maggio, together with artist’s impressions of how the finished restyling will look, is on a dedicated page of the city administration website – click on the text “FASE 2”.
