New women’s clinic opens in Milan

Healthcare by women, for women.

A group of female doctors has opened a clinic for women in Milan to provide the specialist healthcare which only woman doctors can offer, the first of its kind in the city.

We have chosen to employ only women doctors, says the website of “Buongiorno Dottoressa”, the only ones truly able to understand the demands, the fears and the requirements of women:  a clinic by women, for women.

Director Dr Mara Costa has put together a team with six other women doctors in Milan’s Viale Col di Lana 12 to concentrate on the diagnosis and cure which are specifically sought by their female patients over a wide range of specialisations, from oncology to reproductive issues, from ob-gyn to nutrition, from psychiatry to sport medicine.

The 200 sqm clinic near Porta Ticinese and Bocconi University, internally decorated in soothing pink and ivory, is aimed primarily at women patients. But Costa says the clinic accepts all patients – even though it seems unlikely that men would seek out the specialists.

“The clinic was created by a group of women doctors and friends, so it obviously expresses mainly feminine characteristics,” she added.
