Piano City Milano 2015

Deadline for signing up

Pianists and piano music enthusiasts have until 28 February to sign up for the fourth edition of Piano City Milano to give – or to host – a concert in the three-day festival of piano music in apartments and courtyards around the city starting on 22 March.

After last year’s success, with 320 concerts played by over 200 musicians for an audience of over 80,000, Milan city hall has again supported the musical initiative, with help from Edison and Intesa Sanpaolo bank. Anybody who would like to give a concert or to host one in their own home, in their courtyard, on a boat, in a park or a market. And if you haven’t got a piano, or if it’s too difficult to bring it to the concert venue, one will be provided free by one of the partner companies Aiarp, Crescendo, Fazioli, Furcht/Kawai, Griffa & figli, Steinway & Sons, Tagliabue, Tarantino Pianoforti or Yamaha.

Concerts will be free of entry charge as long as places are available. The whole event will be hosted on a dedicated website, where suggestions and offers are still being collected, and which will then become the concert calendar and box office.

The 2015 edition will be launched in Sempione park on 22 March, when German pianist Hauschke will trace an imaginary line from Milan to Paris with a new composition for piano and percussion, never before executed.
