A serious hike in the fine particles count over the past seven days has triggered a traffic ban in central Milan.

Starting on Saturday 5 November, a 24-hour ban cames into force for all vehicles with engines in the categories petrol Euro I and diesel Euro 0, I and II. Other rules concerning the Ecopass and ZTL for goods vehicles remain in force without modification.

The traffic ban will be reviewed if and when the fine particles count drops below the danger level for three consecutive days.
