Enthusiasts from around the world will meet for three days of exhibitions, demonstrations and events at the 18th Milan Tattoo Convention from 8 to 10 February.
Some 250 artists from 29 countries – from as near as Switzerland and as far as New Zealand – will show off their work in six halls at the Centro Congressi Quark Hotel on Via Lampedusa.
Sideline events will include photo exhibits, for example “Tattoos from the streets of Los Angeles”, an acrobatic exhibition by duo Aves on Air, woodcut portraits by British artist Alex Binnie and a concert by Punk Goes Acoustic Live. Tattooed circus artist Lucky Hell will perform sword-swallowing and other bizarre acts, and Lorenzo Dossena, aka “Dox”, will demonstrate how tattooists can also turn their hand to the air-brush to customise motorbikes, cars and trucks.
Visitors can vote for Miss Convention 2013, who will win a trip to Rome for two with hotel booking and entrance to Rome’s Tattoo Expo in March, and for the best tattoo artist in the convention in the categories realstic, colour, black and grey, tribal, and best of show.
The entrance fee for one day is €20, or for all three days €50. The convention is open 14.00 - 23.00 on Friday, 12.00 - 23.00 on Saturday and 12.00 - 20.00 on Sunday.
