Milan streets thronged with fashionistas until wee small hours.
Thursday 13 September will see fashionistas take Milan by storm for the tenth edition of late-night shopping and celebration in this year’s Vogue for Milano – previously known as Vogue Fashion’s Night Out.
While the “fashion square” of streets around Via Montenapoleone and Via della Spiga will be the epicentre of the catwalks, concerts, aperitifs and exhibitions, events will attract crowd across the city, including a live performance by top artists, relayed on a mega-screen on the Piazza del Duomo.
This year’s festival, themed “Innovative experiences”, will also feature a team treasure hunt and screenings of short movies in the collection “Through my eyes”.
Particularly sought after are the articles produced exclusively for the evening, from coloured handbags by Baldinini, sunglasses from Italia Independent, or stockings by Gallo. There will also be bracelets by Nomination and Giovanni Raspini and a limited edition of Camicissima While 85 perfume. The bistro and concept store MonteNapoleone 14 will offer the exclusive collections of jewellery by Fraleoni and beachwear by Linda Raff.
Proceeds from the evening’s limited edition sales will go to the Higher College of Applied Art in Milan’s Sforza Castle to help provide equipment for their teaching workshops. Founded in the 19th century, the college has added the most innovative contemporary experimentation to their curriculum of artisanal tradition.
“This edition reinforces the deep link between Milan, fashion, creativity and learning,” said city councillor Cristina Tajani, “by having the whole city take part in the festival, the public but also the many creative youngsters.”
The Vogue website carries a complete programme of the over 300 events during the evening.
