In the run-up to Women’s Health Day.
As the national day celebrating women’s health on 22 April approaches, many hospitals and clinics around Milan are offering a week of free health checks for women.
(H)Open Week, organised by ONDA, Italy’s National Observatory on Women’s Health, runs from 18 to 24 April. Examinations will cover diabetes, diet and nutrition, endocrinology, gynaecology and obstetrics, heart and circulation study, osteoporosis, the reproductive system, neurology, oncology, psychiatrics, rheumatism, breast examinations and the problem of violence against women.
The week’s activities also include a series of events, lectures and workshops on the subject, all from the viewpoint of women.
This second edition of (H)Open Week marks the tenth anniversary of ONDA’s bollini rosa “pink stickers” project. The new ONDA website provides updated information on the association’s activities.
Of the over 150 structures across the country taking part in the initiative, nine are in Milan province, and of these six are in the city. To book an appointment, or just to find out what events require no booking, visit the dedicated page on the Bollini Rosa website. After selecting the subject and the comune of interest, the page presents a list of participating structures; clicking on any of these will bring up full details of that structure’s events, with details on how to book and where and when to attend.
