The restoration works of the “Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II” have ended. After 45 years Milan’s most famous Galleria has a whole new look and is prepared to welcome its citizens and tourists over Christmas. 4,050 square meters have already been restored whilst the works on the North and South porches paving will end in April 2012, for a total of 6,300 square meters restoration. The total cost of the works amounted to € 1,970,000. "In just 200 working days we returned to the city a worldwide famous attraction ," said Lucia Castellano, Commissioner of Public Works in Milan.
