Annual Book Pride festival returns to Milan

15-17 March. Milan Book Pride publishers almost double.

The fifth edition of the Book Pride festival of independent publishers will be held in Milan from 15 to 17 March, with some 250 events crowded into the three-day event in its new home at Fabbrica del Vapore social centre in Via Procaccini.

Adelphi, Hoepli and La Nave di Teseo are among the new entries, while important publishers like Saggiatore, Minimum Fax, Sellerio and Iperborea remain faithful to the cause.

Among the speakers are Milan mayor Beppe Sala and Auschwitz survivor Liliana Segre, recently nominated life senator. Dedicated sections include Book Young, Book Comics, Book Art and the area dedicated to magazines at Spazio Riviste, while the section Book Pride Off contains numerous events in bookshops and libraries all around the city

This year’s theme is “Your every wish” – an exploration of the different and sometimes unexpected ways wishes are manifested, a thread which will run through the readings, discussions and exhibits in the programme of events.

Entry to the fair and the events in the programme is free. Book Pride 2019 will be open daily from 10.00 to 20.00.
