The relationship between art and food from the time of the first Universal Exposition in London in 1851 is the theme of this exhibition curated by Germano Celant at the Triennale. Design, not just of the food itself, but also of all the rituals that go with eating is traced from the classical to the contemporary.
Kitchen implements, formal dinner services, picnic equipment, the design of venues dedicated to food (bars and restaurants), as well as food advertising posters are all on display. There are also works of art that are specifically dedicated to food and eating.
The exhibition is one of the major Expo Milan 2015 events in the centre of Milan.
