Bike Night ride from Milan to Lake Maggiore

14 July. Milan organises second night ride to the lakes.

Following last September’s success, with almost 600 bikers pedalling through the night, bike-specialised tour operator Witoor has organised a second night ride along the Navigli, the network of canals which were once Lombardy’s vital freight infrastructure.

The 100-km course is almost all along tarmac cycle paths, with a brief section in Milan itself on cobblestones. The difference in altitude along the route is only some 300mt, promising an easy ride.

Fans will enjoy three refreshment points along the route, breakfast and a shower on arrival in Arona on the shores of Lago Maggiore, luggage transport, mechanical and medical assistance and a choice of shuttle services for the return.

Enthusiasts without a bike will be able to hire cycles and helmets, and insurance will also be on offer.

The ride takes off at midnight on Saturday 14 July. Riders can sign up online, or at the departure village in Piazza Leonardo da Vinci in Milan’s Città Studi area.  Once online registration at €25 is full, riders can register on the spot from 18.00 onwards for €35 as long as places are still available.
