Over 2,000 exhibitors from 100 nations
Italy’s major tourism conference BIT (Borsa Internazionale del Turismo) opens its doors for the 35th edition from today until Sunday, hosting over 2,000 exhibitors from 100 nations just 85 days before the start of Expo 2015.
“BIT 2015 is a great showcase to promote the beauty and quality of Lombardy. In conjunction with Expo, BIT 2015 gives the opportunity to create a direct link between tour operators and tourists from all over the world,” said Lombardy regional councillor for tourism, Mauro Parolini. And Milan trade fair chief Enrico Pazzali said the conference should encourage visitors to Expo to travel to other areas of Italy.
The fair is divided into five main themes: leisure, luxury, MICE (pure business and conferences), digital technology and, for the first time, sport. For the first time, through Bit.CHINA, there will be room for a debate on new opportunities for emerging markets.
Chinese visitors to Italy have exceeded 280,000. Among the Italian exhibitors, up 60 per cent from 2014, local institutions are taking part for the first time.
