“Peace train ... Late Again” Tour
Yusuf Islam, better known to millions of fans as Cat Stevens, starts his “Peace Train ... Late Again” tour at the Mediolanum Forum in Assago on Tuesday 11 November at 21.00, the only Italian gig in the tour.
The programme will include many of his popular classics, as well as some new numbers which will be included on his next album.
Born in London of a Greek-Cypriot father and a Swedish mother, Stevens burst onto the music scene in 1967 with his first album, Matthew and Son. Since then his awards have come thick and fast, including induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is also intensely active for humanitarian causes, for which he has won two honorary doctorates as well as the 2004 Man of Peace award, presented in Rome in 2004 by Mikhail Gorbachev.
Cat Stevens converted to Islam in 1977, taking the name Yusuf Islam.
