22 May-19 July 2008. After her exhibition in the Swiss Pavilion at the 2007 Venice Biennale, Christine Streuli returns to Italy with a group of new paintings created for this occasion. The young artist portrays large manifestoes, inspired by different sources, and focused on decoration, drawing, signs and colour. Her art moves between abstraction, the decorative and the figurative, always with a daring use of colour, and she employs techniques such as printing, spray, decalcomania, in which the brush has often just a marginal role. In her abstract paintings Streuli often recalls Oriental culture.
Streuli has studied between Zurich and Berlin and lives and works in Zurich. After having displayed her works in Switzerland she has recently arrived in Milan.
