13 July-9 September 2012. This exhibition, entitled Red Gastel, is hosted inside the Magnolias’ Cloister of the Fondazione Stelline.
It displays a selection of large scale photographs by the internationally acclaimed Milanese artist Giovanni Gastel. The protagonists of Gastel’s portraits are sensual and mysterious muses wrapped in red, which is the leitmotif of this exhibition.
Red had always represented for Gastel the female colour par excellence, the colour of life and the soul, of the world of strong feelings, mother goddesses and ancestral divinities. Throughout his career of fashion photographer and portraitist, Gastel has followed this colour, which represents for him a musical tonality.
