16 September-6 October 2012. This exhibition, entitled Fashionality, goes beyond the traditional perception of fashion photography.
On display is a series of unpublished works by young photographers, such as Andrea Artemisio, Olga Cafiero, Luca De Santis, Claudia Grassl, Marton Perlaki and Brea Souders.
Although the first goal of fashion photography is to sell a trend as well as an idea of beauty, the works that emerge is this context, are among the most interesting and inspiring ones of the wide international landscape of artistic photography. Fashion photography is capable of representing visions, thoughts, observations, feelings and life styles as a clear social critic as well as ideals of beauty.
Fashion photographers explore imaginary, personal identity and self-expression. Having learned the iconographic and intellectual lessons from the great masters of the past, these young photographers are inspired by various sources. From their research emerges an innovative visual language, rich with references to history of art, literature, digital media, street culture, sexuality and daily life.
