6 April-18 July 2011. This exhibition entitled Journeys, Things, People pays homage to the esteemed Italian writer, journalist, essayist and translator Fernanda Pivano, who died on 18 August 2009 at the age of 92.
On display are original documents, some of which unpublished, photographs of her private life and journeys, manuscripts, poems, articles, letters and texts autographed by great writers, which tell the story of this great protagonists of the Italian culture of the 20th century. Furthermore, on show are some drawings dedicated to Pivano by important international artists as well as her ethnic jewels collected around the world during her journeys or designed for her by Ettore Sottsass, Paco Rabanne and Arnaldo Pomodoro.
This complex woman with a great capacity for self-criticism and self-irony was a cultural bridge between Italy and United States for over 60 years. In fact, thanks to Pivano
