Flowers and gardening in Milan’s St Ambrose

13-15 April. Milan basilica hosts display, workshops, tours.

One of the most ancient churches in Milan will host the sixth edition of Flora et Decora this weekend, 13 to 15 April, with expert nurserymen and artisans ready to offer flowers, plants, products and advice in a fascinating setting.

Plants, bushes, rare flowers, garden furniture and equipment, everything needed for a garden, balcony, terrace or allotment will be on show and on sale throughout the weekend.

There will be a snack-bar corner for the hungry visitor, and a kids’ area to keep the younger ones busy while their elders scope the stands or attend talks and workshops.

And in tune with the sacred setting, there will be guided visits to the basilica and concerts of choral music in the church founded in the fourth century by Milan’s patron saint and first bishop.

A programme of the weekend’s events is available on the Flora et Decora website.
