19 January-12 February 2011. This exhibition displays a selection of black and white as well as colour photographs, entitled Journey through Time: Calder Adami Del Pezzo, by Gianni Ummarino.
This series, which is a sort of diary of the journeys Ummarino made for 30 years between Italy and France, was created in the 1970s and then completed between 2007 and 2010.
In his images Ummarino portrays three great artists: Alexander Calder, Valerio Adami e Lucio Del Pezzo, who all worked with Ummarino for Fondazione Marconi.
Ummarino was born in Naples in 1948 but later moved to Milan. He was influenced by fashion photography in England at the end of the 1970s. Back to Milan he became a professional photographer and interpreted contemporary trends, inspired by Flemish painting and artistic avant-guard. He then began working with advertising agencies and big Italian publishers.
